"I've been a DJ ever since my voice first cracked at the age of 14 in Hartsville, S.C...Since I grew up about 10 miles from Darlington Raceway, I knew from a an early age that NASCAR was more than just one "Big Left Turn" and that "country" was more than just music...it's a way of life. As I grew older, I also grew into a rabid Washington Redskin, Atlanta Brave and University of South Carolina fan...And even though they've brought me happiness and joy on a few occasions, all three of them have broken my heart on several occasions, too(sounds like a country song, doesn't it?). Back in school, I used to get in trouble for running my mouth, playing music loud and being a smartass, so one day, I decided to go with my strengths and become a DJ full time and do all of those things and get paid for it to boot. I've never looked back. I moved to the Outer Banks from Atlanta back in 2002 and was fortunate enough to be able to be a part of the First Flight Centennial in 2003 which celebrated 100 years of flight. It not only made me feel in awe of the historical heritage of the Outer Banks and Northeastern North Carolina, but it also made me feel like Forrest Gump hanging around so many older historical figures like Chuck Yeager, Neil Armstrong, Buzz Aldrin and Senior Chief Rick Chamberlin. Over the years, we've gone through n'oreasters, hurricanes, recessions and hours and hours trying to make a left turn in the middle of the summer together, but one thing makes it all bearable and makes this area one of the best in the world...YOU, the listener. Without you, it wouldn't be worth getting out of bed in the morning(of course, at 4 am, not much is), so thank you for listening to Dixie 105.7 and please keep listening, because things are about to really get good."
